Other players who made a mark included 6’6 wing Lou McCroskey (Syracuse/Marist), 6’2 point guard Shannon Crooks (UMass), 6’0 guard Eric Gilchrese (UNH), 6’4 G-F Gerald Carter (SNHU), 6’3 guard Derek Savage, 6’5 forward Ben Grate, 6’7 forward Jamaal Caterina (UNH/So Maine), 6’7 forward Renato Lindmets (Elms), 6’4 guard Damien Battles (Central CT State), and 5’10 point guard Brandon Ball (Michigan Tech).

Among the former Millrats who played well were 5’10 point guard Al Stewart, 6’5 forward Eric Downie, 6’8 forward Charles Mason, and 6’5 forward Dwight Brewington (Providence/Liberty).

“I was suprised by the level of talent here,” said 6’7 Jamaal Caterina, “there was more here than at recent D-League tryout camps.”

“We had a great turnout with alot of great talent, and that’s what we do – we want to help players who are not exactly where they want to be, to get there,” explained Millrats GM Ian McCarthy.

The Millrats staff will begin the process of compiling a roster for a November veteran’s camp. Following that, the roster will be trimmed further for training camp which begins December 12th.

The Manchester Millrats recently completed a very successful second season, finishing 16-4 and winning the Atlantic Division of the Premier Basketball League.
